Sidemount Diver Training

Sidemount Diving is a specialty in either openwater, on wrecks or cave diving and is becoming more popular for our students here at the ProTec Dive Centers as well as divers world wide.
The reason for this is now divers see the many values of sidemount diving. This style of diving is not only for explorers who are looking to squeeze through small areas but all openwater, wreck and cave divers for reasons such as availability of single tanks over doubles, ease of walking long distances while carrying single tanks rather than double tanks.
The weight distribution is different too allowing people with back ache to dive with larger gas volume equal to double tanks. The redundant gear configuration allows solo diving with greater safety margin.
Sidemount diver training is not only for the cave diver available but or openwater, wreck, technical and trimix divers alike.
Diver level
Openwater Sidemount - The liberation of Sidemount diving in terms of feeling free of tanks combined with the independent tank redundancy, larger gas volume, logistically easier to handle than double tanks and the availability of single tanks world wide have brought the world of Sidemount diving into the openwater. The openwater Sidemount course takes three days to complete.
Basic Cave Sidemount - This course is designed for the cave diver who is looking for advanced training in different equipment configurations and diving techniques. Sidemount diving is an extremely comfortable way of diving for many, as well as a way to sneak through those major restrictions. This is a three day course with cave diving, gear configuration and additional theory.
Advanced Cave Sidemount - After the basic Sidemount training with cave diving in larger cave passages some cave divers may wish to expand their knowledge and experience into advanced Sidemount diving where the cave diving takes place in small cave passages. The advanced Sidemount training program takes three days to complete.
